Here is an early update on the stats for each UTSA commit and their team's record thus far. Most, but not all, teams have their offensive stats either listed on Maxpreps or on the site for their local media outlet, like the Dallas Morning News or SAE-N. Defensive stats are harder to come by, as not all teams share them on Maxpreps and it's always hard to know how reliable they are. For offensive linemen you can't really measure a player's individual effectiveness by any available stat, and the only time a lineman's stats are really ever published is if he makes all-state and the press release announcing it mentions his season grade and the number of pancakes or knockdown blocks he had.
We're just three games into the season so far (some out-of-state recruits have played four) and some players and teams have yet to really hit their stride, so I'm sure their stats and senior Hudl film will look better by the end of the year. Here's where we are now.
RB D'Angelo Durham (Grovetown, GA) - 40 carries for 230 yards and 3 TDs, 5 catches for 81 yards, and 6 tackles. His team is 1-3 and has been outscored by 20 points per game.
RB Alex Jacobs (Cypress Ridge) - No stats recorded. His team had its first two games cancelled due to Hurricane Harvey and Jacobs did not appear on the box score for last week's season-opening 26-16 loss to Jersey Village. His team plays Cypress Woods tonight.
