Over the weekend, I exchanged texts with Yoakum (TX) HS OT/DT Silas Robinson to see where he stands in his recruitment. Robinson is a 6-foot-5, 300-pound behemoth who plays both ways for his high school team; the 3-star is getting division one offers on both sides of the ball. Robinson told me he has “no preference” as to whether he plays on offense or defense in college.

Currently, Robinson holds offers from BYU, New Mexico State, Rice, UTSA and Virginia. UTSA has been recruiting Robinson as a defensive lineman. Robinson tells me he “mostly talks to (defensive line) Coach (Bo) Davis” and that he does like UTSA.

As for where he is currently, the 3-star said his recruitment is in its beginning stages. He plans “on visiting Virginia, BYU and SMU right now,” but the three-star added that he will “also take more visits depending on what offers come in.”

From what I gathered, albeit a very long time from national signing day, Roadrunner fans shouldn’t get too excited about Robinson. This is just my personal opinion, but BYU and Virginia definitely seem to have the upper hand here, and Robinson repeatedly gave the impression that he’s waiting for, and is expecting, more offers to come, too.
