  • Very disappointing to see UTSA preform so poorly coming off a bye. The Roadrunners looked off in the first quarter. UTSA seemed to get things going in the second quarter taking a 13 to 7 lead to halftime. Things seemed to implode in the second and early fourth quarter, again very unusual for the Roadrunners. Even after all that they still had a chance to tie the game at the end. I guess if you want to take a positive it is that.
  • UTSA got utterly dominated up front on both lines really. They could not run the ball consistently all game. Southern Miss's defensive tackles dictated UTSA's offense forcing UTSA's to run more east/west instead of their traditional north/south running style. Jalen Rhodes only rushed for 28 yard on 14 carries. Tyrell Clay contributed with 59 yards on 9 carries. This will have to get fixed before next weeks game versus North Texas.
  • This game simply summarized in two plays. The Sturm interception in the end zone & and the Shaw Williams touchdown drop at the end of the game. Championship teams don't make those types of mistakes. Luckily for UTSA, CUSA seems to be a mess up and down. They will still have a chance at the championship, but they kinda sorta have to beat UNT next week if they want to have a chance.
