The king of college football statistics just graced football nerds with up-to-date advanced team statistics team profile for each FBS team. Here's a link to the profile and a glossary for looking up definitions for some of those fancy statistics.

First impressions
  • Offense is much better than it has shown. They're great in the third quarter and on third down but hampered by an inability to finish drives and the worst turnover margin in football. Fixable problems.
  • Jarveon has been consistent at 4.2 yards per carry but he hasn't been as explosive as expected. "Highlight yards" are what running backs do once the offensive line has done their job and opened up a five yard gain. Great RBs get a lot more 10 and 15 yard runs in those situations vs. 5 and 6 yard runs. Right now Jarveon is only generating an extra 2.4 yards on each "highlight" opportunity.
  • Bias has been bad and might need to lose snaps. He's targeted on 10% of passes and only catching 40% of those passes.
  • Grubb is only gaining 4.6 yards per target. Verrryyy nonexplosive.
  • Want proof of conservative play calling? No one in the nation is generating less points on average on "standard" plays (First downs, second-and-7 or fewer, third-and-4 or fewer, and fourth-and-4 or fewer)
  • Only really bad stat for the defense is that they're 119 in allowing success on passing downs. LBs and DBs are not creating turnovers, TFLs or pass break ups, putting both position units in the bottom ten for creating "havoc"
