So, random football thought as we prepare for draft day. Who had the potential to be our best QB that played less than a full season? Options are:
- Ryan Polite.
Notable: best UTSA game was 20/32 for 302 yards, 2 TDs. Third on team in total yards his only year (2012). Upon his HS graduation, sat at #5 all time in the state with his 10,000+ career yards.
End status: left team.
- Zach Conque.
Notable: only game action for UTSA was a 3 yard scramble, but then transferred to SFA and threw for like a bajillion yards (6867) and TDs (46) for his pops. Currently a practice squad TE / QB for the Houston Texans.
End status: transferred out.
- Tucker Carter.
Notable: he played in 12 games, barely, so we'll still include him. Nearly upset Arizona. Had a TD in limited time vs OSU. 10 of 12 games >= 50% completion rate.
End status: graduated.
- Blake Bogenschutz.
Notable: best game was 25/43, 332 yards, 3 TD at Arizona. Epic rushing touchdown at OSU in first collegiate appearance.
End status: career-ending concussion.
- Jared Johnson.
Notable: arguably wouldn't have gotten our first bowl game without him. Best game was probably 15/24, 186 yards, 1 TD at Texas A&M.
End status: graduated.
- Jaylon Henderson.
Notable: Sat behind some folks and never played in a live game. Had a TD in his spring game.
End status: transferred out.
- Manny Harris.
Notable: broke RGIII's passing record at Copperas Cove? Never played a down at UTSA.
End status: transferred out.
- Yannis Routsas.
Yes I'm joking, but dude is 4/5 with a long of 30 yards. GOAT.
