Figured since there is no game today we could all use some recruiting news to help fill the void. Here are nine updates from UTSA targets:
LB - Devin Christiansen (Pierce C.C. [CA])
Coach Neathery talked to Devin about a week ago, but has not had any contact since. If coach Neathery is out in Cali recruiting linebacker there is really no doubt UTSA wants to take at least one JUCO linebacker. Christiansen might not be option number one right, but is someone we should keep an eye on.

ATH - Joshua McGowan (McAllen)
McGowan tells me that UTSA just recently started recruiting him. He moved here in the summer, so teams have not had a chance to really give him a look. He says that UTSA is looking at him as an athlete right now since he plays running back and slot. The last time he talked to the staff is the La. Tech game when he took an unofficial visit.

OL - Joey Latronico (SA Reagan)
UTSA has had its eye on Latronico for some time now. Coach Elliano is the one in charge of that side of San Antonio. Joe has been invited to the Rice game and will attend. UTSA only has room for one JUCO OT and one HS OT, so I could see Latronico being one of the guys they consider for that HS offer.

CB - Kyle Martin (Dodge City C.C. [KS])
UTSA needs JUCO's almost everywhere, so it is no surprise they will try and look at corner after the departure of Bennett Okotcha and Trevor Baker. Coach Neathery talked to the head coach of Dodge City and told him that UTSA was interested in Martin. Martin is someone to keep an eye on.

OL - Chance Lytle (SA Churchill)
Like Latronico, Chance Lyle is someone that UTSA has been after for a long time and for some odd reason has not offered him. Lyle has offers from Rice, Colorado, and UNT. Coach Jeffery came to see him earlier this week to check up on him, but according to Lylte he left without offering him. Lytle has voiced his frustrations about not being offered in the past. I feel at this point even if UTSA did offer it would take a lot to get him to stay at home.

LB - Khalil Hodge (City College of San Fransisco [CA])
Probably the most important update on this list. Hodge might be the JUCO linebacker UTSA targets:
"I've been talking to Coach Polo & Coach Neathery back and forth, and they just came up to my school a few days ago and we talked for a minute. They told me they were going to just recruit the mess out of me. No one really said anything about an immediate offer.
I asked Hodge if he would be interested if UTSA offered:
"Most definitely!! I've been to San Antonio once and the atmosphere is incredible. I would love to get on campus though and really get a true feel for the program, but form what little I know about UTSA I am more than interested."
I asked if immediate playing time is a factor:
"It does, yes. Wherever I end up I feel like I can have immediate impact on someone's defense and with UTSA having that opportunity available it really opens up my eyes."
Hodge does not have any offers at the moment. He has 4 years to play 3.

QB - Cade Dyal (Kerrville Tivy)
At the rate UTSA burn through QB's it should be no surprise that they want to take one HS signal caller. Someone to keep an eye on is Tivy QB Cade Dyal. Coach Brown came to see him practice this past week and although he did not speak to Dyal directly he has spoken with coaches in the past. "I went to the Kansas Sate game and talked to coach Brown there, and I went to the Junior day at UTSA last year."

Zamora is teammates of UTSA LB target Adrain Hunter. Zamora was told that coach Neathery was going to come see one of his games. UTSA is targeting Zamora, Hunter, and DE/OLB Carlos Chester all from Manor.

WR - David Harvey (New Caney)
Do not if UTSA is going to take anymore wide receivers this cycle, but I really hope they take a closer look at Harvey. He tells me that coach Reeve sent his film to coach Jeffery to be evaluated. That is a good sign. Harvey tells me that he would love to go to UTSA, and has actually applied and been accepted to the university. Someone that I have also taken a look at is his QB Timmy Ware.
