NEW YORK — Former UTSA standout Marcus Davenport has been confirmed as one of 22 prospects who will attend the 2018 NFL Draft on April 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The draft will begin with the first round at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 26. It will continue at 6 p.m. the following day with the second and third rounds and conclude with Rounds 4-7 beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28.
Davenport is the first Roadrunner to be invited to attend the NFL Draft and is expected to be the program’s second all-time draft pick, joining 2016 sixth-round selection and current Minnesota Vikings tight end David Morgan II.
The 2018 NFL Draft will be televised nationally by NFL Network, ESPN/ESPN 2, FOX and ABC, and can be heard nationwide on Westwood One Radio, SiriusXM NFL Radio and TuneIn Radio.

Davenport, the 2017 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, participated in the NFL Scouting Combine last month in Indianapolis. He measured six feet, six inches and 264 pounds and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.58 seconds, the 3-cone drill in 7.2 seconds and the 20-yard shuttle in 4.41 seconds. Davenport also recorded 22 reps in the bench press, 33.5 inches in the vertical jump and 124 inches in the broad jump.
Invited to compete in the Reese's Senior Bowl on Jan. 27, Davenport registered a sack of Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield on the first series and a 19-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the third quarter to help the South defeat the North, 45-16. The three-time all-conference selection, who set UTSA career records for tackles for loss (38.0), sacks (22.0) and QB hurries (21), also was credited with an assisted tackle and one quarterback hurry in the game.
The following week, Davenport helped lead the Wildcard Team to a win at the State Farm All-Star Football Challenge in Arlington. The San Antonio Stevens High School product posted a time of 25.35 in the Mercedes-Benz Obstacle Course to help the Wildcard Team — also made up of offensive lineman Will Hernandez (UTEP), wide receiver Cedric Wilson (Boise State) and quarterback Logan Woodside (Toledo) — to victory against four-man teams from the Pac-12, SEC, Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC.
