About a month ago I named some recruits on the offensive side that I liked a lot and (assuming they passed the character and grades test) would probably offer were I on the UTSA staff. Here I'll give the staff (and readers) some more unsolicited recruiting advice/info and name some recruits on the defensive side of the ball who I believe to be at least worth taking a hard look at, and maybe offering down the line. (I know this is unsolicited advice because nobody on the UTSA staff follows me on Twitter or has ever contacted me, and the only current player who follows me is probably punter Yannis Routsas, who I actually wrote about when he was in high school.)
DE Charles Cameron (Morton, Mississippi)
Listed as 6'2" 260. Had something like 160 tackles and 13 sacks as a junior, and this season he was credited with 23 tackles in his team's first game two weeks ago. He has no profiles on any recruiting site, which shouldn't be for geographic reasons because he has a 2017 teammate committed to Alabama, and his school has sent a number of other players to the FBS level in the past decade. I have no idea if anyone is recruiting him, but I'd get his coach on the phone today to find out, because he looks like a really good player. And I don't care what competition level you play at, a DE who piles up double-digit tackles regularly has to have a motor and/or a nose for the ball.

DT DeMarco McMichael (Elk City, Oklahoma)
Listed as 6'2" and 300 pounds, he may not be quite that tall but he's pretty quick off the snap and is a load for opposing offensive linemen to handle. I haven't gotten in contact with him but I've read another outlet that said he told them he played both ways for most of his games as a junior. With the size, quickness, and motor that he possesses, I can only imagine what he'd look like with a few years in a college program and only having to worry about playing one side of the ball.

DE/DT Ramon Readus (McKinney Boyd)
As a sophomore he was his district's defensive newcomer of the year. Then shortly before his junior season he suffered an injury that cost him that season. He came back strong this spring and is reportedly up to 6'2" and 265+ pounds, so he may end up playing inside at DT in college. He wasn't on many radars due to missing his junior season, but he impressed a lot of people (including Scout's Greg Powers) who saw Boyd's season-opening win vs. Mesquite Horn, and he could be a guy who blows up before the season is over. You can see clips from the Boyd-Horn game here.
LB Ronnell Wilson (Abilene)
Standing 5'11"-6" and probably between 235 and 240 pounds, Wilson plays ILB in a 3-4 front and could prove to be a good Mike in UTSA's 4-2-5. He was credited with 122 tackles in 12 games as a junior. He won't remind anyone of Jens Jeters with his speed but he sheds blocks like nobody's business and knows how to get to the ball. No sites have reported him having offers yet.

LB Quintelro Baker (Houston Reagan)
He transferred to Reagan after previously attending Houston Cy-Fair. At the Austin Rivals Combine in March, he checked in at 5'11" 195 pounds, ran a 4.81 forty and a 4.07 shuttle time, and recorded a 35-inch vertical. So he's got some athleticism, and while he'll need to add weight he already hits like a guy 20 pounds bigger. Just watch some of the hits he delivered on some poor Hempstead players last week. I think he'd be a Hawk for UTSA, maybe a Dawg if he showed more speed.

DB Jordan Davis (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma)
He's played at both running back and safety, and could probably play either position in college, depending on his choice of school. He's around 5'9" and 207 pounds. Arkansas' Rivals site reported that he ran the fastest 40 time at one of that school's June camps. He missed his junior season due to an injury but looks plenty explosive in clips from his senior season thus far. His Rivals page lists no offers at this time. He may end up picking up offers from P5 programs, but if you're UTSA, why not see if he's interested in RB or Dawg safety? Broken Arrow happens to be playing this Friday at Coppell, which is just northwest of Dallas. If I'm available for a game I'll try to catch that one to see Davis in person.

DB Brandon Northcross (Ashdown, Arkansas)
He's primarily a WR for his team but also spends time at cornerback and that may be where he'd best profile in college. He's 5'11" and 180-185 pounds. He reportedly ran multiple forty times in the low 4.4s at Arkansas's camp, and has tested similarly at others. He has offers from Air Force and Central Arkansas, but should get more later this fall. If UTSA offered him and seriously pursued him they'd be in a good position I think, because from what I'm told some of the FBS programs in the region who you'd expect to target a southwest Arkansas talent like Northcross have already poisoned their relationship with his head coach. 2 or 3 different FBS programs said Northcross would have an offer if he came to their camps, only to renege on that once he and his coach took the time to make the trip and have him compete there. He's one I'd love to see the staff check out.

DB Jacaleb Lewis (Anahuac)
He's a slippery if undersized (listed at 5'9" 178) running back/safety from a small town on the northeast side of Trinity Bay near Houston. As a two-way threat he reminds me a bit of former Brazosport star Emond Hobbs (now at A&M-Kingsville), though he may be more athletic. I'd need to see him in person before offering to make sure he's not really 5'7" and to see how fast he plays, but he's a kid with the talent to play college ball somewhere, either at safety or in the slot.
