I've only missed one home game since UTSA first started back in 2011 (The OT UTEP game) and that was because I had the flu. Yesterday was the 2nd game but the difference was that this time was by choice. I enjoyed my Saturday. I was able to complete some errands in the morning, watch some decent college football and have a nice night with friends w/o thinking too much about UTSA. I admit I checked the score twice, once when FIU took a 14-0 lead and again before I finally went to bed. Admittedly, I enjoyed my Saturday without UTSA football or really even thinking about it. All the stress this season caused me was easily evaporated away with one conscience and intelligent choice to not participate. I felt liberated.
My assumption is that my year for UTSA football is likely over. I probably won't worry to much about the Marshall game and will likely miss the UNT game. I support UTSA but I cannot support not enjoying myself. It's on the same level as if I was volunteering to have a root canal done every Saturday. The stress and suffering is just not worth it. I also thought it was important to point out that my decisions has nothing to do with the players. I know those kids work hard and deserve respect, which I give them, but I just don't want to be a part of it at this time.
Good luck the rest of the way!
