Former UTSA tight end David Morgan was giddy practicing for the East/West Shrine Game due to what all the players who take part in this game are hoping to do. Make a good impression on the numerous amount of NFL scouts in attendance.

However, Morgan's hopes of doing that was put to rest on Friday afternoon when he tweeted to the Roadrunner faithful some unwelcoming news:

The 6-foot-4, 262 pound tight end caught up with UTSA Rivals Editor Mike Craven, explaining his advantage of having a Roadrunner on his helmet.

"Everyone wears their helmet and we all know Nebraska, UCLA, Oregon and schools like that," Morgan said. "Mine has a Roadrunner on it and not everyone knows what that is. I get to just fly under the radar and do my job. I want to handle what I can control. I want to show I belong.

"Everyone here is the best of the best. We're all here for a reason."

Morgan will now have to watch as his All-Star teammates compete on the sideline, rather than making big plays on Tropicana Field.

Although the injury is minor, there is no reason for Morgan to play due to a possibility of injuring it further. He did participate in the first two practices before the injury, where multiple NFL scouts watched, however the news will surely not help his draft stock.

The East/West Shrine Game is set to kickoff at 4 p.m. to be broadcast on NFL Network.
