Was able to catch up with Virginia LB transfer Dominic Sheppard and Arizona CB transfer Antonio Parks after their visit to UTSA.
On his visit:
"It was nice and I enjoy it."
This was Sheppard's first time visiting Texas/San Antonio.
Sheppard says he has a visit planned to Toledo as of right now.
He plans on making a decision around March, or at the end of February.
On what he is looking for in a program:
"A winning program, and a place to start where I can go to the league."
On if UTSA can be that program:
"Yes."
Sheppard has two years of eligibility remaining and would be eligible right away.
On his visit:
"(visit) Went well, the relationship I have with the coaching and the opportunity that is there to be an impact player right away is very interesting."
On what he is looking for in a program:
"A place where the coaching staff is invested in me as much I am invested in them & where I can make a impact on their team."
If UTSA could be that program:
"It’s a strong possibility because the staff informed me I’m a want and a need on the team. That’s what I’m looking for heading into the back end of my college career."
Parks has taken his three visits. I asked what programs he had visited:
"Won’t speak on those programs, but one is in the Mountain West, one is in the Big 12, & the other is CUSA which is UTSA."
Parks has two years of eligibility and is on track to graduate this May.
On when he plans to make a decision:
"Within this next coming week."
On how he describes himself as a player:
"Physical!!!!!! Great Tackler, great ball skills, and play good within my technique... Very good in man to man and coverage! Can play all over the defensive back field, and is a dangerous return guy."
