DALLAS — UTSA quarterback Frank Harris has been named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Harris accounted for 373 yards and three touchdowns to help lead the Roadrunners to a 24-10 victory over Stephen F. Austin in the home opener on Saturday. The junior completed 23 of 36 passes for a career-high 269 yards and a touchdown and he also rushed for 104 yards and a pair of scores, as the Roadrunners racked up 498 yards of offense. A product of Schertz Clemens High School, he is now the first UTSA QB with two career 100-yard rushing games under his belt.
Through two games, Harris has thrown for 438 yards and two touchdowns on 48-of-67 passing (68.7%) and rushed for 155 yards and five scores to help guide UTSA to its first 2-0 start since 2017. He is now tied atop the FBS in rushing (5) and total (5) touchdowns and he ranks second in points responsible for (42).
With Harris’ honor today, UTSA now has captured the league’s offensive award for two straight weeks.
The Roadrunners will host Middle Tennessee (0-2) on Friday, Sept. 25, at the Alamodome. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally CBS Sports Network.
