- It was a good birthday on Saturday. Shared it with some close friends, the team. Couldn't ask for a better gift on my birthday.
- The players singing happy birthday after the game was fantastic. Never discussed it being a birthday with them before the game at all because it wasn't about me or my birthday, it was about the team and this university.
- The road win against Middle Tennessee was a big in building momentum toward the final games. To win in the manner that we did is a boost to morale.
- Thought Saturday was the offensive line's best performance. There were very few missed assignments, guys getting beat one on one was rare. It was first game of the year with no sacks given up.
- Guys have embraced physicality. To give up 0 sacks and on the defensive part to record five sacks is a testament to big men leading this team. That is our mantra: big men lead this team. It starts up front. We knew to be effective against this opponent we had to change the line of scrimmage.
- Didn't intend to do all of the O-Line rotation. We do it if necessary. Whoever it is, next guy step up. Through spring, summer fall and the season we tell all the guys we're going to need you at some point. Our ability to win these games will come from the quality of depth that we have.
- Louisiana Tech is pretty good. They went up against Arkansas (in week 1) and lost 21-20, they probably should have won that game. They are a very formidable opponent. They are balanced on offense. They score a lot of points offensively.
- We will do whatever necessary to win. If we're in a position to run the ball and command time of possession we'll do that. If we have to try to score as much as we can to win the game we'll be prepared to do that also. It may be 6-3 or it maybe 48-44. We will be prepared no matter what.
- The chance for bowl eligibility is relevant now for the first time because as usual the next game is the most important game. This next game has ramifications that position us to be in position to contend for the conference championship. That along with competing for a bowl was our long term season goal.
- Known Skip Holtz for quite awhile. When he got hired at La Tech and was getting familiar with the terrain he reached out and we had a lot of conversation. He's a charismatic, quality football coach that has his team playing at a very high level.
- Javonte Domond will be good to go for Saturday.
