*Confirmed with source he was on campus with administration, presumably interviewing for the job.

Bruce Feldman of Fox reported Oklahoma State defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer emerged as a strong candidate for the UTSA job. After some texts/emails to a few people at Oklahoma State, I can say with strong certainty that he is in fact very interested in the job and is coming or is in San Antonio for interview (couldn't get an exact date).

He was last a head coach at Georgia West in 2000. Since then, he was at Georgia Tech, Duke and now at Oklahoma State for a decade. He was a recruiting coordinator at Duke and is the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at OSU.

My take: Spencer is a good candidate. Oklahoma State recruits well in Texas, so it is safe to assume he has some high school connections around the state. I subscribe to the belief that defensive coaches make better head coaches, especially at the G5 level. He won't be a "splash" or anything like that if hired, but he is a good, solid football coach with a strong reputation as a player's coach and a recruiter.
