Yesterday, ESPN's Brett McMurphy tweeted out a story on how four cities are looking to create and host new college football bowl games:

"Four cities -- Austin, Texas; Tucson, Arizona; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Orlando, Florida -- applied to the NCAA to addnew bowl games this season, sources told ESPN.com."

Now some of you probably have some opinions regarding more bowl games for the Division I FBS level - adding four more would bring the total number of bowl games to 43 (42 actually if you leave out the national championship game) - but let's disregard that for the moment. How does the prospect of the city of Austin hosting a bowl game sound to you, specifically one with a C-USA tie-in?

Personally, if Austin did host a bowl game - premuably being played at UT's DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium - and UTSA got a chance to play in it, I can see it having great attendance by UTSA fans due to the close proximity it has to San Antonio as well as due to being located in Central Texas. Heck, whether it was UTSA or another Texas-based school, if marketed and promoted well, I could even see general college football fans attending it due to its location being at the epicenter of football-hungry cities and towns. And let's not forget that people love visiting Austin as its eclectic environment and vibes appeal to many people, no matter their background and age.

Thoughts?

P.S. I could see it being called the "Keep Austin Weird" Bowl lol.
