Don’t worry I did not forget about yesterday’s scrimmage. Again this is information is from multiple trusted sources. Enjoy:
  • Cordale Grundy is making a push for the QB1 spot.
  • Grundy has been the most dynamic last two scrimmages.
  • D.J. Gillins still looks to be the most prepared to start even with Grundy looking good these last two weekends.
  • Seems to have narrowed down to a two man race between Gillins and Grundy.
  • Regardless of who gets named the starter UTSA seems to have two very capable QB’s in Gillins and Grundy.
  • Offensive line looked good — The quarterbacks had plenty of time to work with.
  • Defense was not at full strength but offensive line did a good job with who was in front of them.
  • Clayton Johnson was a standout yesterday.
  • Johnson stopped Tykee Kellogg on end zone fades two times in a row.
  • Jalen Rhodes had a light work load.
  • Deven Boston looked good but B.J. Daniels impressed.
  • B.J. Daniels was described as being a “beast”.
  • Depth chart is shaping up to be Rhodes, Daniels, Boston.
  • Sheldon Jones, Kirk Johnson, Tykee Kellogg impressed at wide receiver.
  • Sticks shows quickness and good hands. Knows how to take some hits.
  • Scrimmage on the 25th (Fan Day) shaping up to be very important in determining who starts week one.
Plenty to discuss.
