So I've been away for about 2 months from UTSA sites such as this one and I'm ready to get back in the loop regarding all things UTSA and re-engage with my fellow UTSA fans (I've also been out of the loop on my main Twitter account for the most part during this time but this blog-style post also implies my return to twitter activeness too).
Why have I been MIA this whole time? Well, I recently got married late July to my Ukrainian gf; technically, she was born and raised in the country Georgia but moved to Ukraine in her late teens with her mother and sister (she's technically half Ukrainian/half Georgian). We had been dating over a year and decided to tie the knot! Long story short, we decided to have a small wedding in the DC metro area with mostly members of our respective families with no formal reception. [We are planning to renew our vows over a year from now however in the form of a bigger wedding complete with a formal reception (with a good chance of this happening back in Texas)] Even though this was a small event, we still had to do some preparations for it during that month which preoccupied much of my time. After this, we spent quite a bit of time in filling out a lot of immigration paperwork and gathering supporting documents (for her, as she's foreign-born yet married to a US citizen); this process is not over yet as we had just completed the 1st step of it and now comes the 6+ months of waiting for approval (after more interviews and possibly more paperwork to come).
Other things that got me preoccupied were on other interests, particularly my interest in Star Wars as I've been delving into SW fan sites for some time now. Not so much engaging in forum discussions but more so in reading up on SW-related news, particularly on news regarding the new, upcoming SW film The Force Awakens and the spin-off film Rogue One (which comes out December 2016) as I'm excited to watch these (and there will be more SW films to come in the next 5 years). [I have a separate Twitter account dedicated to my SW interest where I follow other fellow SW fans around the world. I have been preoccupied with that account as of late]
But at any rate, I'm back on the UTSA sites now, staying plugged in just in time for the season opener this Saturday.
