I am a 2012 alumni and recently went back to the UTSA campus this weekend to study for my law school finals. Since St. Mary's hosts oyster bake every April and finals are next week, UTSA was an excellent alternative.

I had not been to the campus since 2013 and I wanted to share a few thoughts of the immediate changes I saw. For one, I am impressed with the new additions in student housing and parking on campus. The new garage stands out and the additions highlight the size of UTSA that I hadn't seen before. Some on this board may know that I spent my freshman year at Arizona State which is a massive campus. I can say with confidence the additions to UTSA gave off the large campus vibe similar to ASU. These changes make UTSA appear as a destination university instead of a commuter school, something I know we have all felt needed to change.

There have been smaller additions to the school that I appreciated. There are now more campus maps and signs directing visitors where to go. In addition, the student MU and the library have redecorated to reflect a more student-oriented focus.

Finally, I drove down UTSA boulevard and saw the construction taking place. I'm glad they are expanding the road and adding sidewalks for students and residents. It adds to the growing perception that UTSA is no longer just a commuter school.

These were just my thoughts but I wanted to share them to express my excitement with the direction UTSA has been going these past five years or so. For those who have not been to campus in a while to see the changes, know that UTSA is continuing to grow and improve. For those who are on campus now, know that UTSA is a great place to be and that alumni such as myself are excited about the future.
