Since it's the offseason I'm trying some new things on the board. Things will stick or disappear based on success and you guys' opinion. First thing I'm going to try is to use more video. I purchased a go-pro and will hopefully know how to use that by spring practice.
Also, I want to start using Periscope more. It's a free app on a smart phone, and from what I can gather, it is essentially a live-feed podcast with video. YOU GET TO SEE ME AS I TALK, YAYYYYY.
The nice thing about Periscope is it can replayed at your convenance. I'm going to do the Mailbag today at 10:30 on it. You can find us on Periscope as BirdsUp.com
If this doesn't go over, it'll never happen again and I'll write it up. I don't even mind doing both if that's the appropriate way to do the Mailbag. I'll be the first to admit that I'm having a hard time writing sports right now, haha. This is script/book writing/editing season and I'm not used to having multiple sports jobs in the spring.
That's more me whining than an actual excuse, so I'm up for whatever suggestion you guys have on how to build the video presence while not compromising the writing on the site, which is what I think (hope) sets us apart.
