Coach Wilson and a few players, including LSU transfer Jordan Moore, met with media after practice. Here are highlights from the transcript.

Coach Wilson
- Facilities allowing practice to be productive despite the rain
- Think the guys have done exceptional with the grind of camp. Have a device that monitors heart rate to acceleration to explosiveness. Had a presentation of it today on how our guys progressed through camp and where were our peak performances. We like to study and research on those things and watch the trends.
- Team is in great shape. Tomorrow wraps up training camp. Want to do it in grand fashion. Getting better day by day. Like the consistency shown. Hopeful the scrimmage shows that improvement. Looking forward to being in Dome, getting out of weather and being at the home field.
- Scrimmage won't be exactly set up like a game.
- Two good quarterbacks standing out. Says it is dead even.
- Doesn't think the OL leans itself to Johnson's skill set giving him an advantage. Both embraced playbook and are taking constructive criticism. No advantage based on OL personnel.
- Johnson is tough, smart, has what we want in QB position.
- The two transfers in the secondary will help on defense and special teams. Maybe a play or two for Moore on offense. He has experience as a punt and kick returner.
- New fourth quarter tradition is a rally cry.
- We welcome the weather. We want our guys used to different situations.
- He has visited the Alamo.
- Love it out here. Coaches have made it a smooth transition.
- Have to do what you love. I love track, but the opportunity was there in football for it to be my main focus. Accomplished most of what I can in track. No plans to do both at UTSA. Will compete professionally in track after football, he plans. Reached out to a few of his buddies at Olympics. Happy for their success, but still ready for football.
- Couldn't play football at LSU due to SEC rules, so wanted to find a place to play football. Coach Frank reached out and rest is history. There wasn't much of a sales pitch. I knew him from LSU and knew what he stands for. I'm a visionary myself, so you have to go with people who are trying to push you in that direction. He understood my dreams and what I was trying to do.
- Totally different than Gary Patterson. Both get the job done.
- Football is football at the end of the day. Both coaches bring great stuff to table.
- Thinks he can play on defense and offense. His past on offense helps him play defense. Thinks he is one of the best defensive backs in the country. He's eligible for draft so knows those scouts were out there to look at him. Wants to stay focused on right now because 5,000 other dudes are trying to get to the same spot.
- Weighing 225. Naturally a big guy. Doesn't care about weight as long as he feels strong and the quick twitch muscles are working.
- He then sang a little at the end of the interview after being asked. He wasn't half bad.
- Getting better every day. Building depth every day. Trying to get ready for first game.
- Even between Dalton and him. Both making plays and competing.
- Excited for second scrimmage. Thought he did well in first scrimmage. Thought the offense did well. A lot of depth around the team and guys are making plays.
- OL doing great. Building chemistry. Also adding depth. That's a good sign.
- More depth at FBS level. Sam Houston State had a lot of good players, but the second or third-string weren't as good. At UTSA, the second and third-string don't have a ton of separation.
- Finished courses at beginning of camp. He's here to get a degree and that will happen in May. It's a big reason while he is here. He is taking 13 hours, which is five classes. He's taken that many classes before.
- Think we're doing a lot of good things right now. We're all-in.
