- A good day of practice today. It was very productive. Threw a lot of things at the team which is typical for a Tuesday practice. Worked on normal down and distance plays. Guys were spirited today. They're excited about the opportunity that's before us.
- Going to game plan accordingly to the abilities of Louisiana Tech. Try to keep them from doing what they've been good at doing.
- We acknowledge the next game is important because it's the next game. We're not going to run from reality. The reality is this team sits on top of us. Positioning ourself to win this game gives us (the) opportunity that is part of our yearly goal and that is to compete for a conference championship. We recognize it and know what's at stake. All we have to do is what we've been doing. They don't have to magically do something different. If we are as good as we can be we like our chances.
- I tell the guys everything that has happened is supposed to happen. It was supposed to happen the way it did. Whether it was squandering leads early in the year, whether it was a five overtime loss. All of those things that you go through, the adversity, builds the man for moments like this. We own everything we've gone through. We're better because of it.
- Louisiana Tech has some phenomenal receivers. Carlos Henderson has back to back 5 touchdown games. It is a feat no one in the NCAA has done. We have our hands full with them. All we can do is put ourselves in position to make plays.
- Have been to the Louisiana Tech campus but have never been into Joe Aillet Stadium. Familiar with the area having visited Grambling (also in Ruston) several times. I'm very familiar with the program and have the utmost respect for them.
- Good friend Karl Malone is an alum of Louisiana Tech. Probably need to give him a call and check in. Became friends with Malone when I signed his son KJ to LSU. Karl taught me how to hunt. He has acres of land and we would hunt all the time, even after his son was at LSU.
