It was cold and windy at UTSA practice today. The media got to speak with Coach Wilson. Kevin Strong had also been scheduled to meet with media but had to leave early for an exam.

- Today was a third day emphasis and ball security from an offensive standpoint, trying to get the ball out defensively.
- Our quota that we tried to achieve defensively is 150 strip attempts in a practice. We'd been hovering right at about 100 so we tried to get 150 today. We created four turnovers against UAB today and our offense unfortunately turned it over one time, a tipped pass that was turned into an interception.
- To get over the hump in close games its going to take being successful on down and distance, to convert when we need to and to get in the end zone when those opportunities present themselves. I don't have a magic wand or a magic answer it's just constant work at getting the little things done.
- When you go back you see on film. You know the things you need to do, we specifically worked on goal line situations today to heighten our awareness of the team and what it means when we get down there. Everything is done with intent and purpose. We design things to better ourselves in those situations.
- Haven't seen the video of the UTSA flag running against wind at bowl last year but it's symbolic of our team persevering through adversity. Times like these make you come closer. Our team is probably closer now than we've ever been before as we stand shoulder to shoulder back to back with one other in an attempt to right our ship, to get us where we desire to be and that's in the win column.
- Didn't let the loss affect birthday celebration. Football makes you happy and it also torments you but that is life, the things that make you happy can also make you sad.
- The losses don't torment as much as not playing well. When you're capable of playing better and you don't play your best that's what hurts. At the end of the day we're so much more than just football coaches, we're life skill coaches, we're mentors. We want to win in the game of life and I'm not being cliche when I say that. This football piece is a part of it but the responsibilities and the accountabilities in growing these young men up to be all that we desire them to be and what they desire in themselves is what most important. If they give their very best we'll live with it. When we don't do that, that's the part that hurts.
- Jalen Rhodes is still the starter. Sometimes you don't want to fix what isn't broken. Tyrell probably is better when he comes off the bench for lack of better words. It just kind of flows that way. We're interchangeable. Anybody can start for us. I like our rhythm and I like our consistency there.
- Marcus Davenport has been invited to the Senior Bowl in Birmingham and the NFLPA all star game in California. I got the invitation and I gave it to him. I told him congratulations. Job well done and well deserved.
