- Spirited day of practice. Guys focused on details. Like the intensity. The opportunity to establish some consistency and put together two straight performances of four quarters is our aim. We have a good game plan. Normal down and distance was the theme today and the guys picked it up quickly and that's a good sign heading into this week.
- Our guys feel gratified since we accomplished what we wanted to accomplish. Shows our guys we can do this if we put together 60 minutes.
- If you just buy-in and believe in what we're doing it'll happen for us in the game like it does in practice. It is a great feeling to watch for the players and the staff.
- Hard for a freshman to do this at LB. Praises Josiah.
- Look for efficiency in QB and that was Dalton against Southern Miss. He completed passes and limited mistakes. He did all the little things that don't show up statistically but it gives the team advantage. He put us in the right plays. He applied what he was trained to do. It was as good as he's looked this year.
- We've been inconsistent as a team. It isn't a home/away thing. This past week we put that behind us and was consistent. It shouldn't matter if we're home and away.
- The reality is that in the trenches it gets physical. For us to play as many OL as possible is the goal. Everyone is contributing, even if it is just one play. The more guys who can play and contribute the better we are.
- Domond should be fine against Rice.
- Kevin Strong had a good game. Hadn't been consistent in previous games. We like his abilitiy and potential. It finally showed itself against Southern Miss. That's how we expect him to play. It is how we expected him to play. Whether he plays the three- or four-technique, he needed to grow up and play well. He did that.
- Can't judge Rice by the record. They play hard and play sound.
- We'll be recruiting in Houston on Friday before the game Saturday.
- Andrew King came to me and said he could help the team if given a chance. I told him not to tell me, but to show me. He got some shots in camp and then in spring football. He was a project, but he got better through summer and fall camp. He's gotten better each week and now he's playing 30+ snaps and graded out excellent. It's a great story. He was always physical. That position requires intellect as well because how he fits into the line of scrimmage depends on the defense. He's doing a good job.
