- It's been way too long since we were in the Alamodome. It's been since last November that we were in that dome. It's time to get home. We're excited about going home and competing and entertaining for our fans, our university and our city.
- Think it will be a great atmosphere on Saturday. It will be college football at its finest when you talk about pageantry, talk about music and dance and football with our fans and then you put the (Spirit) of San Antonio up against the Human Jukebox it will be one to remember. Looking forward to it.
- My Mother Gail has taken on the obligation of buying tickets. Between our church members and family and friends she has purchased 105 tickets. There are several charter busses from Baton Rouge and New Orleans that are coming down. It will be fun. All 105 will sit on UTSA side but there are other charter busses that are coming that may be well wisher but are Southern alumnus. We'll wave at them from a far.
- Six siblings and their kids will also be here for the game.
- It's a special game because its the home opener. It's been too long. I miss the Alamodome. I miss going through my little entrance spot. I miss going into my locker room and taking that team onto the field and looking at our crazed fans with shirts on, no shirts on. The walk, the tailgating, the smell going through there. I'm ready for it. I'm ready for Saturday.
- What a gift we have in the dome as our home stadium. As fine a place as any in the country. We're very prideful of the Alamodome. We're excited about the opportunity to defend it. It's always perfect weather, 72 degrees and the right lighting. It's set just the way we like it.
- You always want to do well at home. It's your opportunity to be able to give your faithful, your city, your university, your family and friends an opportunity to see what all the hard work has rendered for us. We want to play well on the road but it's more special when you're at home.
- The offense was solid against Baylor. For us it's whatever it takes to win the football game we're prepared, if we have to go five wide empty sets or 22 personnel, 21, 11, 10 whatever it takes we will adapt accordingly to what gives us advantage to win the football game. We're not a statistical team that's wanting to see where we're at in running or passing, we just want the W. Defense is a little different because statistics matter a little more. We don't want the other guys running up and down or racking up passing yards. As a team we want to score one more point than our opponent and hold our opponent to one less point than we score.
- When the players walk on this field it's their refuge, their safe haven. It's where they come and can leave everything else at the door. Whether its academic issues, social issues, family issues, girlfriend issues, whatever those things are whenever we check in at this gate and we tap in, it's football. It's using their God-given ability to express themselves, where their personality shows in its finest when they play this game. This is our place of refuge where we're able to express ourselves best and then when we get off this field we deal with world or life situations.
