Today was the final time to visit with the Roadrunners before they take on Texas State this Saturday. There was some shouting done by Wilson at the end of practice which is discussed by today's guests. Today Coach Wilson, Shaq Williams and Marcus Davenport spoke with the media about practice and the upcoming game.

- The more we look at this opponent the more it becomes apparent how much improved they are. You watch them against an Appalachian State team that has historically been a good team and it goes down to the wire.
- Studying their personnel day by day as you move along you have a new found respect. There O-line protects their quarterback very well and their defense runs around. We'll have to match their intensity and be prepared for an emotional game, especially early on. We're expecting a hard fought football game from a quality team that's much improved from week one to week three. We'll need to be at our very best.
- I've shared with these guys the things that we need to do on our end, the reality is its about us and our preparation and the things that we'll need to do to execute to have success.
- Today we had to have a reality check with them on whats going on. That it's going to require us to play. Nobody is going to lay down and give you anything, you have to go out and compete. We have a good group of young men who want to do well.
- Sometimes you have to pry it out of them and really turn their attention to what needs to be done from a detail standpoint. That its not ok not to bend your knee properly, that its not ok to not put your hand down properly, its not ok not to finish the play. Those things carry over from practice to the game and so we need to continue to emphasize those.
- Its a demand of expected behavior that championship programs do. Being average isn't good enough. We did solid things, we did things that everybody else does but we need to be better than that. We're trying to create a culture of championship effort, in a championship culture the demand is that much greater. We've heightened the standard of what we need to do and we won't lower the bar, we'll continue to strive to that.
- We're anticipating and hopeful that its packed to capacity (in San Marcos). That's what college football is all about. I know their student body for sure, from what I'm told, all their allotment, 15,000+ has been sold. They're eager and ready to be there and hopefully our fans can do the same and come into that stadium and match their intensity as well. It has all of the things that you look for in the buildup to a great college football Saturday atmosphere.
- Defense has done a really good job (in last four games, holding opponents to under 300 total yards four times) for us. I thought our defense had a really good practice today in terms of pursuing to the football and playing as a unit. I think we'll need to continue to do that. We have some talent and experience on that side of the ball. We'll need to continue to improve in order for us to be successful.
