- A good Wednesday workday for us. A heavy emphasis on third down and our ability to get first downs which will be critical in this game from an offensive perspective and defensively to get them off the field on third down.
- Other emphasis of the day was ball security. From an offensive perspective, taking care of the football. We had zero turnovers from the offense today. Our defense had five turnovers against the "baylor" offense so plus five in the turnover margin today.
- Baylor has an ability to score because of the talent that they have on their team. They're fast on offense and defense as well. Their front seven is a force to be reckoned with.
- Try to simulate the road experience in practice. We put ourselves in position with crowd noise. We anticipate if they have some success, we need to be able to withstand that and then try to flip it and suck the air out of our opponent where it advantages us. We put ourselves in those tough situations both from a schematic standpoint and from an environment standpoint.
- Marquez McNair will be out this week. He'll be ready to go hopefully next week. Ursua is questionable.
- We manage the anticipation by keeping it fresh. Everyday has a challenge, we challenge our guys to get better each day and to win the day. Saturday will take care of itself. We have to be better today. Everyday has a different goal to accomplish.
- Anxious to see (UTSA) defense on Saturday. We're poised and in position to get our best players on the field as frequently as possible to give us an advantage. You always want to get that first one under your belt just to see. The preparation has been done. Those guys have done everything we've asked of them. Now its just a matter of playing.
- Marcus Davenport has stature, he has size, speed and mobility. He's capable of doing the things we're going to ask of him. Sometimes those attributes carry over to Sundays but we just need him to be a good football player right now for us. All that will take care of itself. Hopefully he has a big season. We need him to be productive for us and I think he's up for the task.
- Right now we're so focused on Baylor, haven't given thought to if Houston game will be rescheduled. Whatever happens with that happens. Right now the priority is the Baylor Bears.
