Today was practice number five of the spring for the Roadrunners. There was a 15 minute window for media to observe practice during the individual team drills. I will be posting some photos from today and there will be videos of the interviews with Coach Wilson and Jalen Rhodes posted throughout the day.

My thoughts:

It's tough to gauge progress with just 15 minute bursts every two weeks (or week, when there isn't spring break in the middle). That being said, Today the emphasis during the 15 minute window was on ball security. The offense tried to keep the ball while on either side of the runner a defender was trying to punch the ball out.

The media also got to see the BirdCage drill. One thing I always notice during that drill is that the team gets more excited than at any other time in practice. It's a chance for them to let loose while at the same time compete.

It was full pads today for the first time this spring. The Roadrunners will have a scrimmage during part of the practice on Friday but there won't be a 15-minute window that day.
