I've seen a bit of hand wringing about this class when comparing it to last years. I agree with a lot of what is said in that this class definitely appears to be underrecruited vs the kids we got last year. August 1st is start of a new recruiting quiet period and also right before camp starts. So a really good chance to get a look at the classes side by side. I'm gonna list the HS kids that committed before camp started from each class from highest to lowest rated. Respond with a simple < > with which player you think was the better prospect while in HS. And apologies to Javi, I used the 247 composite.
Also keep in mind that the ratings for the 2018 class are from end of the year. Burford-Watts and Jarrett Preston were both very low rated 2 stars until post season evaluations. Bottom shows the players by FBS offers and then P5 offers. 2018 class again will have offers as of signing day in february. Off the top of my head Lathaniel Washington is the only other guy besides Matterson that committed to us with no other FBS offers.
