Friends -
Members felt like too light a word to describe the people who make up this site. Friends was a more accurate description. It is with a conflicted heart I must announce my movement away from Rivals and towards the Austin American Statesman to cover recruiting for the Longhorns and the state of Texas. I started this site in December of 2012 with a lot of hope and plenty of goals. I didn't accomplish all of those goals but something more important happened along the way -- I met a group of great people, and many of them I consider some of my best friends.
It was a joy to cover UTSA for the members of this site. A thank you is required to guys like Wes Crochet, Javi Cardenas, Kevin aka Digi368, Stephen Whitaker and others. I'll forever be honored that Rivals elected me to run the first Rivals site dedicated to UTSA coverage. It was enjoyable and it was fitting to watch UTSA reach its first bowl game in the last year of coverage.
Now for the good news -- the site is staying in the family. Javi will take control of the Publisher's role moving forward. No one, myself included, deserves that honor more than Javi. He's led our recruiting charge for two cycles and no one is better. He's the perfect person to move this site forward.
Let's not get weird or sentimental. That's not my strong suit. Thank you all. I'm forever indebted to Rivals and this site for helping me reach the next step in my career. If Javi allows, I'll remain around as a member moving forward. I look forward to watching UTSA as a fan and alum since that's never existed for me. I'll see you guys at a tailgate and I'll actually take part. Go Roadrunners.
