UTSA gained verbal commitments from three players over the weekend. The Roadrunners added three defensive players to the fold in Eric Banks, Teddrick McGhee and Solomon Wise. Two of those players -- Banks and Wise -- are expected to play defensive end, which was a need position for UTSA in this cycle.
- Marquez McNair, a three-star wide receiver who was committed to Southern Miss at one point, tells us he'll go back home and discuss the decision with his family before making anything official. UTSA is in good shape with him, though. McNair said he was very surprised with San Antonio and couldn't put into words how impressed he was with coach Frank Wilson and the new staff at UTSA. He didn't pull the trigger on his visit, but it could be coming in the next day or two.
- Another interesting note was on Southern Miss commit Jacques Turner. The defensive end out of Mississippi officially visited UTSA this weekend. Turner told Patrick Magee of the Sun Herald, who covers Southern Miss. that he is still committed to USM. We have no reason to believe Turner isn't still committed to USM, but players on campus over the weekend are adamant he was very into UTSA. He's a name to watch over the next few days.
