I was able to catch up with Konner Fox, the WR out of Reagan. Konner told me that his recruitment has been going good and that “SMU has been texting me regularly and so has North Texas. Lately, I’ve been in contact a lot with UTSA.” It’s good to hear that UTSA has been reaching out to Konner quite a bit as of late.
Konner was on campus this last Friday and was able to attend one of UTSA’s practices. I asked him about his time on campus, and he told me, “It went well, I got an offer from UTSA.” He continued to tell me about the things that he really liked about his time on campus and he went on to say, “I like the facilities and the players.” Konner told me that he thinks that UTSA has a really good coaching staff and “have something special going on.” I asked him which coach from UTSA he hears from the most, and he told me that he has been talking with Coach Vizza the most. We talked about what he thinks of Coach Frank Wilson, and he spoke highly of him saying, “Coach Wilson is a great guy. Being in his office talking to him for about an hour was a special opportunity. Very neat.”
We spoke about what Fox looks for in a school to commit to, and he said, “I look for a good school that can throw the ball and that also has a good academic standard.” A team that can throw the ball is important, obviously because Konner is a wide-receiver, and once he gets the ball in his hands, he can be a very explosive player for his future team. Lastly, Konner said, “What sets me apart from other players at my position is probably my size and strength. Also, my capability to run crisp routes.” His size (6’ 5”, 215 pounds) is definitely an advantage. Konner is also very capable to go up and high point the ball very well, which leads to some nice catches over smaller defenders.
