A lot of recruits attended the spring game this past weekend. These are some of the biggest updates I could get.

OL Christian Mascorro (Refugio):

"I was unable to stay for the actual game since I had prom yesterday, but I had a long conversation with the O-Line coach and meet other coaches as well. The first thing he (Markuson) said was that he loved my film and the way I played. He definitely evaluated my size to make sure I was actually 6'3". He also brought up my GPA and class ranking. He said they want me to attend their first camp and told me they were going to start offering kids early. I believe I may receive an offer.

I asked him what position UTSA wants him to play and if he thinks he is in line for an offer:

"No sir, they didn't. I do believe that I'm high on their list for whatever position that they are recruiting me for."

If UTSA offered:

"Yes sir, no doubt. There will be many different factors that I will consider when I choose where I go, but UTSA will be high on my list.

What he is looking for in a program:

"Academics is a top priority for me. I'm not set on any University right now. The ivy leagues , Navy, AF, and Rice are also interested. I also love UTSA because I lived in SA at one point."

OLB/S Jordan Ward (Kempner):

"It was a good experience. I talked to Coach Neathery and Coach Eliano.

They are recruiting him at outside linebacker.

If the coaches talked about an offer:

"Yeah they said I'm way up on their list and I have a high chance of receiving an offer from them. They wanted to evaluate me at practice first.

If he would consider UTSA if they offer:

"Definitely it's close to home and around my family. I live just two hours away."

He also told me UTSA offering first would play a factor in his decision.

LB/S Si Kilinc (Southside [AK]):

"I wasn't sure what to expect initially, being my first time to meet coaches that I'd only talked with. But the reception was more than incredible. Talked at length with coaches Popovich and Nethery. They'd been impressed by my film and in meeting with them, they gave the impression that Id be a good fit, and likewise."

The obvious question here is how did a kid from Arkansas end up at UTSA's spring game?:

"I've been following UTSA for sometime. Knew coach Coker reputation. Coach Nethery installed 4-2-5 scheme which plays hybrid safety. OLB position is a safety in that scheme, that's where I'd play. Same responsibilities that I'm accustomed to. I like Nethery's philosophy. Defense is Very aggressive, yet patient.

He had a lengthy conversation with the coaches:

"Coach Popovich has liked me since day one. He's the one that invited me. He told me that he loved my film. Coach Neathery liked my mentality and was impressed that I knew so much about the school and the defensive scheme. He told me he could see me playing that dawg position. Aside from the great football program, he told me that at UTSA I would not only excel as a player, but as a young man as well. I really liked that he said that!"

Did they talk about an offer?:

"Coach Neathery invited me to the prospect camp on June 10th in Dallas. Once they see me ball out live, I feel confident that I will be offered."

Another name that I think will get an offer is Manor linebacker Adrian Hunter. Do not know if he is in line for an offer, but Victoria West ATH Gamar Girdy will attend camps in hopes on earning an offer.
