Today at UTSA practice Coach Wilson met with a smaller media group (TV crews were at Spurs shoot around) but conducted interview while players were trying to see who could run the fastest 40. The top four runners were Jacolbie Butler, Stanley Dye, Brett Winnegan and Matt Guidry. Media also got to speak with deep snapper Matt Bayliss.

  • Practice was good today. We improved today. It was much better than Monday. We threw a lot at the guys today from a tight red zone to a short yardage two point conversion and having an understanding or field awareness. We wanted to raise the consciousness today and they did well, they responded well. Competition was back and forth throughout the day.
  • Higher energy today than on Monday. Today was much better.
  • You can't slacken when you're trying to build something and you're trying to achieve and eclipse milestones and do great things. They're deserving, they want it and sometimes you just have to lead them in the right way. We'll get them where we need to be to the best that we can be.
  • We ran tight red zone so we were (at) nine (yard-line), seven, five three. It was good. I thought our defense did well but the margin for error there is so small that our offense did have some success as well.
  • We have two first year guys on offensive line that are going to see extensive time. Josh Otis and Josh Dunlop are the two current guys involved in it. It's open competition and I think they're competing well. We have very good pass rushers so the task becomes very challenging blocking Marcus Davenport and those guys.
  • Dalton (Sturm) did very good today. He's been very consistent this spring. He understands the expectations. He understands how to work and how to lead. We're pleased with the progress he's made.
  • Pro Day went really well. It was attended well by the different NFL organizations. They continue to recognize the things we are doing and the culture we are creating for our players to be in position to be prospects. I thought our players competed very hard and did some good things.
  • It's inspiring to the underclassmen. It says to them all your dreams and aspirations can happen here at UTSA. You don't have to go anywhere else. You want a platform, how about all 32 NFL teams represented for you, what else could you want.
