I caught up with Rod Clark, the running back out of Starkville, about his recruitment. Rod told me that he has had a pretty decent recruitment thus far, and he’s mainly been hearing from Memphis and Southern Miss. Clark went on to tell me that he really hasn’t heard much from the coaching staff since he received his offer. Rod said he is excited to meet Coach Wilson and the rest of the staff, saying, “I plan on meeting him (Coach Wilson) and the coaching staff real soon.”

I went on to ask him about what sets him apart from other recruits at his position and he said, “I am a different type of running back, my style of how I run and swag separate me from a lot of running backs. I have a different work style and grind different from a lot of others.” It’s clear that Clark can provide some swag and work ethic to wherever he goes.

We also talked about what he looks for in a school to commit to, and he told me, “I want to have the opportunity to work for a starting spot, a team that gets backs to the NFL, a really good running program and also winning!” It’s good to see his ambition with wanting to come in and compete for that immediate playing time. He currently does not have a top list of schools just yet.
