One of the biggest question marks this summer is whether CB Michael Moore and S JJ Smith will make it to campus for the fall or even summer semesters. With the spring semester coming to an end I reached out to both to see how things are going. So far only Moore has replied, but he had some good news.
Moore:
"Yeah everything will be fine just needed this class then I'll be all set."
"I would join in the summer."
Smith:
"Going good I finished off at Perk with 2.7 GPA."
"I haven't heard from them (UTSA)."
"Trying to (join the team in the fall), but haven't heard from Coach Wilson and the crew so I don't know."
So it seems only Moore is a sure thing to join the team. Luckily he should be here in the summer those extra months with the S & C staff and the current players will do him a world of good.
As for Smith he is an extremely talented safety/corner that could contribute next season. His status is up in the air it seems. The staff might have moved on from Smith because of grades or other issues.
