UTSA has not been shy about targeting tight ends in 2017. The next big tight end target for the staff is West Jefferson [LA] tight end Damien DeGruy. The versatile tight end tells me that he is in contact with coach Henderson and coach Brumfield almost everyday. He has yet to visit UTSA, but he did do some in depth research on the school and football program.
"Compared to other dorms I have seen and campuses.... I really loved it the from the dorms to the pools and all! I think the program under Coach Wilson will be very successful!"
DeGruy is currently mulling offers from UTSA, ULM, Southern Miss, and Minnesota. I asked what he wants in the program he commits to.
"A program that I will fit in! And I want the place to feel like home."
UTSA has legitimate chance in landing him in my opinion. He is a borderline three-star tight end.
