Saint Mary's Hall tight end Jay-Ton Franklin took a visit to UTSA on Friday. I caught up with him to talk about UTSA and his recruitment.
"It was awesome, I really enjoyed my visit, (UTSA) is in my top 5 schools for sure."
Although has not offered he expects one soon.
"Not yet, I just took my SAT yesterday, so they should offer me soon. "
We went on to talk about the coaches.
"Coach Brumfield, coach Gio, coach Davis have my number personally, but every coach gave me a warm welcome when I visited."
I asked if the staff had talked to him about how he would fit into UTSA's offense.
"Yes, coach Brumfield has already broken down the offense for me and showed me where I would play, you guys already know I'm a tight end so."
Not a lot D1 recruits come out of Saint Mary's Hall I asked Franklin about UTSA's ability to find talent in the city.
"Yes, they had never heard of my school before until they found me, I think with my recruitment, it will show them you can find talent anywhere, no matter the school."
Franklin tells me he has about 12 or so D1 programs talking to him but they are waiting on the SAT score.
