- First day in shells. Its always good to see guys that are eager to make sincere contact. I thought we did that today. I thought the anticipation of putting on helmet and shoulder pads was good for us. There was no scrimmage so there was no tackling but at the point of contact we made some genuine sincere pop.
- That pop is a beautiful sound. It brings you back to yesteryear when you played ball at its purest state. Just wanting to see guys that enjoy the contact of our sport and just to know that we have a team that rally around that and that want more. We have to slow them down a little bit because they're ready to make contact with someone.
- Saturday is the first day in full pads. There will be four scrimmages next week.
- It was back to back good days for us. We're making strides in the right direction.
- Dalton had a really good day today. Our receivers caught the ball well. Josh Stewart had a really good day today. The offensive line came together. We had a lot thrown at us from a defensive standpoint with blitz looks.
- B.J. Daniels the young running back is performing well. Our defensive back Tay'lor Perry is having a good camp. Bryce Rivers continues to improve. Both the young offensive linemen, Dominic Pastucci and Kevin Davis are playing well. As a unit that entire young group is what we thought they would be.
- (Editor's Note: This week the Roadrunners had the young group of players practice in the afternoon and the veterans practice in the mornings).
- I'm excited to see the young guys rejoin the team tomorrow. It's so critical that they're able to mature in the right fashion. The evening practices have given them the opportunity to be youthful, to make mistakes. Their maturation process happens on time. I like their maturity and the strides they are making. It's about time they come on to be part of the rest of the team.
- Defense has a chance to be really good. We have to continue to develop the depth that we'll need but I like our guys. I like Kevin Strong, Baylen Baker, Nate Newton and Marcus Davenport and our backers like La Kel Bass and Josiah as well as those guys on the back. We have some guys with playing experience that are stronger and wiser.
