Over the weekend, I chatted with Tykee Ogle-Kellogg. Ogle-Kellogg is a 6-foot-6, 191-pound receiver from Alcoa, Tennessee.
When asked his initial thoughts about UTSA, the 3-star prospect responded, “I haven’t visited there yet, but I love how the coaches stay interacting with me.” As for who Ogle-Kellogg has been in contact with most and his thoughts on the staff, the wideout said, “Coach Will Thomas has been the main guy. I love the staff. Coach Wilson is a great guy.” Ogle-Kellogg added, “The whole staff is great. I love how they keep tabs on me.” Ogle-Kellogg admitted he doesn’t talk to Coach Wilson much, but noted that Wilson makes sure that Coach Thomas keeps in regular contact with him.
The 6-foot-6 deep threat believes it’s his ability “to be a player and a coach at the same time, once [he gets] comfortable with [his] environment” that will separate him from others at the next level. Additionally, the 3-star said, “I will bring whatever a coaching staff needs from me. If that means playing defense, I will do it. Anything they need, I’ll do!”
Tykee Ogle-Kellogg is taking things slowly with his recruitment. The 3-star told me he has no visits planned yet. Currently, the 3-star prospect is sorting things out between seven schools: Louisville, Missouri, Memphis, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee and UTSA. As for what will make one of those schools Ogle-Kellogg’s destination of choice, the wideout said, “I’m just looking for a school that will push me as a student, a football player and also as a man.”
