I had the opportunity to talk with the fast rising CB out of Temple, Markel Reed. Reed told me that his recruitment is going great, and that, “Things are most definitely picking up.” UTSA was the most recent to offer Markel a few days ago, and what does that offer mean to him? “It’s truly a blessing to receive an offer from them! Words can’t explain how excited I am.” He is still hearing from UTSA on a regular basis and mainly hears from Coach Deron Wilson.
I asked him about any new schools that he’s been hearing from a lot, and he told me that Texas Tech has been talking with him quite a bit. We talked about how his UTSA visit went and what he did while on campus, and he said, “It was amazing. We toured the entire campus and got to talk to the coaches 1 on 1 and got some lunch and talked football with Coach Wilson.” So after his visit, what does Markel Reed think of UTSA? “It’s a great place to be!” Indeed it is, and let’s hope that Reed chooses to spend his next few years as a Roadrunner.
