SAN ANTONIO — UTSA head coach Jeff Traylor on Tuesday announced that the program has added Jimmori Robinson, one of the top junior college pass rushers in the nation. The Alexandria, Va., native will join the Roadrunners for the 2021 season and have three years of eligibility remaining.

Widely considered one of the top JUCO players in the nation, Robinson (6-6, 255) is rated as a 3-star prospect by 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals, as well as the third-best edge defender and No. 19 overall JUCO prospect by 247Sports. He comes to UTSA from Monroe College in New Rochelle, N.Y., where the Mustangs did not have a 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to his one year at Monroe, Robinson starred as a freshman in 2019 at Dodge City (Kan.} Community College. He registered 20 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss, with three stops behind the line of scrimmage against both Iowa Western and Coffeyville and a pair of tackles for loss versus Ellsworth.

Robinson was a first-team all-state selection, all-region pick and unanimous all-conference honoree as a senior at Hayfield Secondary School in Fairfax, Va., after leading the state in sacks. He recorded 48 tackles, including 16 tackles for loss and 14 sacks, in 2018. He also was a three-year letterman and all-district performer for the basketball team, averaging 13 points, nine rebounds and three assists per game as a senior after posting seven points and seven boards per contest as a junior.
