Once again, 2019 WR Dewuan McCullum of Nation Ford HS in Fort Mill, South Carolina is the only UTSA commit who will be playing this week. High schools in some states began play last week and many more will this week, but the state of Texas (home to 10 of the program's 12 commits) won't kick off the 2018 season until next week, same for Dajon Richard in Louisiana.
Nation Ford will host Conway at 7:30 Eastern time tonight. Like Nation Ford, Conway opened its season with a loss last week, falling 16-14 to North Myrtle Beach, a team that went 12-1 and reached the third round of the 4A playoffs a year ago. Conway is also coming off a pretty good season, as they went 10-2 overall (its two losses were by a combined 8 points) and advanced to the second round of the 5A playoffs in 2017. Nation Ford is also a 5A school, but the two schools do not appear to have played each other within the past decade or so. Conway is a short distance from the Atlantic coast, while Fort Mill is 150 miles away in the far north central part of South Carolina.
