SAN ANTONIO – UTSA freshman forward Adrian Rodriguez will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 basketball season with a left leg injury sustained in Sunday’s (Nov. 12) season opener, head coach Steven Henson announced Monday.
“Unfortunately, Adrian suffered a leg injury that will require surgery,” said Henson. “This is a season-ending injury.
“Adrian is an extremely mature young man and he will handle this situation very well. I have no doubt that he will come back stronger after this injury.”
Rodriguez scored 10 points on 5 of 7 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds in his 14 minutes off the bench in the Roadrunners’ win over East Central prior to his injury.
Coach Henson and Rodriguez are unavailable for further comment at this time.
