Well folks, here we are. Welcome to week one of UTSA's most promising football season in school history. This week's opponent is the Houston Cougars. The game is currently set for 6 pm on Saturday however obviously Hurricane Harvey may change that. UH and UTSA administration are in contact to assess the situation but no changes have been announced yet.
The Cougars are currently in Austin. They had been practicing on UT's campus but had to cancel practice today as they plan their game preparations for the week.
The biggest issue that could cause a change in kick off date is UH's equipment situation. I'm unsure if the Coogs' have all of their game equipment with them in Austin. It will be days before Houston is dry enough for the equipment staff to get back to campus to collect the game equipment -- Thursday is probably the optimistic guess. If the staff can get in and out of Houston and into San Antonio by Thursday night or Friday morning then the game may be played on Saturday. Again, this is assuming UH doesn't already have all of their game equipment with them.
How are you guys feeling about the game? How do you think the schools should handle this unique situation?
