SAN ANTONIO -- Junior guards Jhivvan Jackson and Keaton Wallace have earned All-Conference USA honors in a voting by the league coaches, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
For the second consecutive season, Jackson was tabbed first-team and Wallace checked in second-team All-Conference USA. Jackson is the only UTSA player to earn all-conference accolades in consecutive seasons, the first since Devin Brown did so in a program-record three straight years (2000-02).
Jackson, a native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, leads the conference – and ranks second in the nation – with 27.2 points per game, adding 5.8 rebounds per game the second most in the NCAA among players six-feet and under. He has scored 20 or more points in 27 of 31 games and has 12 games with 30 or more, including a pair of 40+ point outbursts. His season-best came with 45 points in a win at Old Dominion on Feb. 6, featuring a 28-point first half. He has three all-league honorees in his career, including being named the 2017-18 freshman of the year and a second-team all-league accolade a year ago.
In his career, Jackson averages 22.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. Through just 88 career games, Jackson ranks throughout the league record books, ranking fifth in points scored (2,041), eighth in field goals (682), seconds in scoring average, fifth in 3-pointers made and sixth in 3-pointers attempted. In UTSA history, Jackson owns the career (2,041) and single-season scoring records (844), ranking first in 3-pointers made in a season and career, field goals made in a season and career. He ranks fifth in career free-throws made (375) and second in career free-throw percentage (82.2).
In the league stats, Jackson ranks first in scoring (27.2), 12th in rebounding (5.8), fifth in free-throw percentage (84.8), seventh in steals (1.5), first in 3-pointers made (3.9) and eighth in minutes played (34.5).
Wallace, a product of Dallas’ Richardson High School, averages 18.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game as a junior and has scored the 11th-most points in UTSA single-season history (572). He has scored in double figures in 29 of 31 games in 2019-20 and has 20 or more in 13 outings, including a stretch of nine consecutive games in conference play.
In his career, Wallace has three all-conference honors, including C-USA All-Freshman Team accolades in 2017-28 and second-team honors in 2018-19. He boasts a 16.5 career scoring average with 4.2 rebounds per game. Wallace ranks among the school record holders in a bevy of categories, including ranking sixth in career scoring (1,616), 16th in rebounds (410), 11th in free-throws made (241), fifth in career field goals (548), third in career free-throw percentage (81.1). He is tied with Jackson for the program record in single-season 3-pointers (121), part of a conference season that saw him average 20.2 points per game.
Wallace ranks throughout the league starts, checking in second in points per game (18.5), 15th in free-throw percentage (80.6), 14th in steals (1.3), third in 3-pointers made per game (2.7), seventh in assist/turnover ratio (1.3) and sixth in minutes played (34.8). In league history, Wallace ranks seventh in 3-pointers made (279).
UTSA will open the C-USA Championships with a first-round matchup vs. No. 7 seed UAB at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at The Star in Frisco. The game will be televised live on ESPN+ and broadcast on the Roadrunners Sports Network, live on Ticket 760 AM.
