UTSA trio earn all-conference honors
Jackson, Wallace, Ivy-Curry tabbed All-Conference USA
SAN ANTONIO -- UTSA men’s basketball standouts Jhivvan Jackson, Jordan Ivy-Curry and Keaton Wallace have been named All-Conference USA in a voting of the league coaches, media and publicists, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Jhivvan Jackson was named first-team All-Conference USA for the third consecutive year, with Keaton Wallace earning second-team All-Conference USA accolades for the third straight season. Guard Jordan Ivy-Curry was tabbed to the C-USA All-Freshman Team, UTSA’s first honorees on the freshman squad since Jackson and Wallace in 2017-18.
A native of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Jackson has carved out one of the most decorated careers in college basketball history during his four years at UTSA. The senior guard has scored the 64th most points in NCAA history, ranking second in C-USA and first in UTSA annals. He owns the all-time records in C-USA history for made field goals and 3-pointers. As a senior, Jackson is poised to win his third consecutive C-USA scoring crown, averaging a league-best 20.7 points per game, with career highs in field goal percentage (48.3), 3-point percentage (38.8) and assists per game (3.2). In league play in 2020-21, Jackson averages 21.9 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, connecting on 49.2 percent of his shots and 42 percent from 3-point range.
Wallace, a product of Dallas’ Richardson High School, has joined Jackson in the backcourt for four seasons, forming the nation’s highest scoring guard pair as sophomores and juniors. Wallace, who ranks sixth in C-USA and second in UTSA history in career scoring, averages 16.1 points per game, with career highs in rebounds (5.5) and assists (3.4) per game. Wallace is a three-time All-Conference USA second team selection. In C-USA action as a senior, Wallace averages 17.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
A native of La Marque, Texas, Ivy-Curry has posted a 7-2 record in the starting lineup and has helped fuel UTSA’s turnaround after opening league play with a 1-5 mark. Ivy-Curry has averaged 7.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, shooting 40.1 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from range. In conference play, Ivy-Curry averaged 7.5 points and 2.6 rebounds per game, shooting 47.8 percent from 3-point range.
UTSA (14-10) will open C-USA Championship play on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. vs. Charlotte at The Star in Frisco, live on ESPN+ and Ticket 760 AM.
